How we design spaces for couples with differing tastes

A successful home design will incorporate both members of a couple’s tastes. More often than not, partners don’t exactly like the same things. At Adrienne Morgan Interior Design, we always get input from both partners, that way we create a happy medium.

1.We Welcome and Encourage Complete Honesty

It’s critical that each member of a couple gives input as to what they want and like, at the beginning of the design process. They must be open and honest in order to reach the best outcome. If one partner dominates, or says they just don’t care, it can lead to disappointment.

2. We Have the Expertise to Blend Styles Beautifully

When faced with very different design aesthetics, we like to mix the two. She likes modern and he likes traditional? We can blend the two so that neither dominates yet both are featured. Often these are our most favorite design projects!

3. We Tell Couples to Expect Compromise & Flexibility

Compromise is important when mixing styles. You have to be prepared to have your “must haves” and also some things you’re willing to let go of. Unless it’s a pleather recliner…that has to go!

We have a diplomatic and fair method of getting couples to come together on style decisions. Over 20 years of experience designing for couples has taught that to us. We even make the process fun!
